The Faceless Michael Keene at NAMM 2009
An absolutely iconic video. I remember first hearing this and my mind being totally blown.
Awesome
Random notes & scales, played fast & slow & in between = no ideas whatsoever = typical 'tek deth' nonsense.
"random"
haha loser
Truly unbelievable. You can see he just wanted to ve recognized for his immense skill. Dude is a killer on guitar
Michael pre drugs
cant grasp playing without the pinky never seen someone so talented do it
jesus 2009 was 45 years ago
wow I just realized that's a Washburn. I always loved the green screen finish but never realized the brand til now haha, pretty uncommon.
I couldn't do this using all 5 of my fingers let alone just 4.
This album is otherworldy, like i dont even think of it as a "metal" album though it obviously is, its just planetery duality, its own realm
Sooo sick thank you for uploading this
I got meet him at a random show once. I miss this band so much
To this day this band is the biggest inspiration to my guitar playing. Discovered them at 16. I’m now 33
Lol same story for me too
same man, silent circus btbam got me into metal, this guy set me on my path
@@torch357 fucking yessss dude! Silent circus was just top notch, and we can’t forget The Red Chord, and Animosity we’re so unique and bad ass as well
@@drifter61 hell yea! saw TRC shortly after clients in a small club, still one of my favorite shows. Animosity had my still favorite drummer too! (navene)
Not a musician but also discovered em in middle school / high school and would blast the faceless everyday driving out of school on my buddy’s pos Pontiac 😂. Good times.
He was really hunched over that guitar like a goblin.
Is this before all the heroin?
Pretty sure.
Sad to watch him fall apart
Reminds me of when I first stated playing guitar; I didn't use my pinky, and I thought the Pod was the secret to good tone.
Damn…cholo raiden in the back through lol
I like how he barely uses his pinky
Yeah well his playing is unreal
The mistake he made at 0:59 where he muted instead of pulling off sounded SO good. He should play it like that going forward lol
How is no one talking about how this man DOESNT EVEN USE HIS PINKY FINGER 90% OF THE TIME. What a badass, 3 fingers is all he needs to play like this
Looks like hes getting away with it because he has pretty big fingers
Damn nigga!
Damn it’s so clean and well done! I love it
Thank you! It’s for sale right now on bring a trailer, bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-chevrolet-nova-18/
Look at all that space. There room for an ls3 and a couple turbos.
Yea, it’s definitely ready for a crazy swap for sure. Have it up for sale right now bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-chevrolet-nova-18/
Small block love. Perfect gauges! ❤
I miss The Faceless. They were just as impactful as Necrophagist. Such a distinct sound it influenced so many Tech Death bands shortly after their era
100% bro, such a shame he hasn’t been able to kick the addiction. We could’ve gotten a PD2 for all we know had Derek and co not left the band. At least we’re gonna get something similar with Zenith Passage soon.
Epitaph is such an amazing album. Muhammed suiçmez was definitely another pioneer in the tech death scene.
@@thecrypticstench oh yeah Zenith Passage slaps always. Entheos as well
They were like the Steely Dan of tech-death. Deadly vices included unfortunately
@@thecrypticstench as of Five hours ago 🔥🔥🔥
That bloos dad rippin' licks right before he starts, it's seared into my brain.
This guy, emil werstler, and suicmez. What an amazing guitar player
Шо со скоростью?
I rly hope he he gets off h
Hope he's doing better. This guy was a talent not of this earth
Genius songwriter and player. Hope to hear more from him soon. I still bum planetary duality as hard as I did when it came out
Such a great talent wasted.....just goes to show you kids....heroin is bad mmkay
at first those japaneze guys werent feeling it, then as it got more interesting they walked over lol thats how you know the riffs are good
This video is gold. Amazing player
This man from the us of a correct? Proud… proud…
I hold my pick like him... That's the only thing I share in common with him guitar wise though
2022 still listening
Poor dude, he was so damn nervous haha. Awesome as always
When are we gonna see him at NAMM 2023?
U won't....he's to busy shootin dope...threw his talent out the window for a needle
Hope he finds it in him to overcome the drug abuse
Yo what happened to him !?
One of my favorite guitar videos of all time on RUclips!! Best tech album ,sickest guitar for that genre and dope playing even with the mess ups.
Too bad he’s a crazy ass junkie now
still coming back to this vid ...great playing and composing
Seriously one of my biggest inspirations and criminally underrated, his leads sound freaking alien and are instantly recognizable. Hope he his doing well!
He's been struggling with Heroin addiction for many years, I hope he recovers and comes back soon!
Can anyone play tremolo picking as clean as fast as this dude?!?! Xenochrist has 16th notes at 245 bpm. I can barely do 210 which is still insanely fast . It blows my mind that he’s playing 35 bpm faster than that.
could I ask what specific number shade of green this guitar is?
Some say old gray mane is still searching for service on his flip-phone to this day.
